The Telangana Government has placed special emphasis on the development of Warangal city, said Revenue, Housing and Warangal district in-charge Minister, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
During a review meeting held at his secretariat office on Wednesday, the minister, along with Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, discussed the key development projects in Warangal.
The meeting focused on the development of the Inner and Outer Ring Roads (IRR and ORR), the rejuvenation of the Bhadrakali Lake and the construction of an airport.
Ponguleti emphasised the importance of speeding up the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and ensuring that all works are completed within
the stipulated time frame.
The key directives of the meeting are that the proposed ring road projects must be integrated with National Highways to improve connectivity. Land acquisition for these projects should be undertaken on a priority basis. The airport project requires swift land acquisition to meet the development needs of the region. Bhadrakali Lake restoration should be fast-tracked due to its ecological and cultural significance.
The Minister asked officials to prioritise these projects and ensure their timely execution, keeping in mind the promises made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during his recent visit to Warangal. He reiterated that the government is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Warangal.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Administration Secretary Dana Kishore, Finance Department Special Principal Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Municipal Administration Director Sridevi, Mining Department Secretary Surendra Mohan, and Warangal and Hanamkonda Collectors Dr Sathya Sharada and P. Pravinya and other senior officials.
The government’s determined approach to developing Warangal aims to transform the city into a key urban hub, with projects progressing on a war footing to meet public expectations.
