Govt insensitive to farmers’ woes: Jagadish Reddy

Must read

Former minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadeesh Reddy has accused the Congress government of being inefficient and insensitive to farmers’ pathetic conditions. The farmers are now under tremendous pressure with their crop withering away due to drought-like conditions in the State.
Jagadish Reddy, along with former MLA Bhupal Reddy, inspected the withering crops in fields and also a lemon garden in Annaparti village in Nalgonda district. He interacted with the farmers.
Jagadish Reddy took the the state government task and charged  it with not doing anything to save the crops even though there is scope to provide irrigation facility under Musi project.
He demanded that the Congress government approach the Karnataka to get water Narayanapuram and Almatti dams.  Everywhere in Telangana the crops are withering away, he said.
Not a single minister or MLA or official so far visited the farmers in distress, he alleged and charged the Congress Ministers with busying themselves with illegal collection of money. Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who hailed from Nalgonda, failed to come to the rescue of farmers.
It was high time that the Congress government conducted survey and paid compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged, he said. Otherwise, the Congress government collapse due to the curses heaped on it by the farmers, he said.

Nalgonda municipal chairman Saidi Reddy, BRS leaders Cheruku Sudhakar, Pankaj Yadav and others accompanied Jagadish Reddy on his visit.
