Govt urged to name medical college after ex-CM Rosaiah

Jana Chaitanya Vedika has urged the State government to name the new medical college, which is under construction, Konijeti Rosaiah. A memorial meeting was organised here on Monday on the occasion of the first death anniversary of former chief minister K Rosaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, MLC and YSRCP district president Dokka Manikyavara Prasad recalled that former Chief Minister K Rosaiah resolved difficult problems easily. K Rosaiah had vast experience in state politics and played a vital role on many occasions in the Congress party in the combined AP state.

K Rosaiah had created a record by presenting the State budget in the Legislative Assembly 16 times, the MLC recalled, adding that K Rosaiah’s name stands synonymous with discipline.

He lauded the former Chief Minister stating that Rosaiah had become a symbol of financial management. MLA Maddala Giridhar said that Rosaiah united the Arya Vysya community and had striven for their welfare. The present leaders and budding political leaders should draw inspiration from K Rosaiah, the MLA said.

Jana Chaitanya Vedhika state president Vallamreddy Lakshman Reddy said that Rosaiah was an alumni of prestigious Guntur Hindu College and he was also a student leader. Lakshman Reddy appealed that a bronze statue of K Rosaiah should be installed at the Hindu College centre. As an MLC, MLA, MP, Minister, Governor and Chief Minister, Rosaiah brought recognition to the posts and won accolades for efficient services to the state.

Former minister Alapati Rajendra Prasad, renowned educationist Prof. DAR Subramanyam, CPM leader Bhavanarayana, Congress leader K Vinay Kumar, Janasena leader B Srinivas Yadav, and senior journalist Nimmaraju Chalapati Rao were among those who attended the programme.
