Govt will do justice to cricketer Hanuma Vihari: Nara Lokesh

Must read

IT Minister Nara Lokesh announced on Tuesday that the State government is extending a warm welcome to star cricketer and Telugu luminary, Hanuma Vihari, following his resignation as captain of the Andhra cricket team due to excessive political interference.
In a press release, Lokesh stated that the people have vociferously rejected the political outfit that acted in a dictatorial manner, ignoring the fundamental principle that politics should not interfere in sports. He criticized the previous government for its political manoeuvres, including appointing P. Sarath Chandra Reddy, an accused in the Delhi liquor scam, as president of the AP Cricket Association.
Lokesh highlighted that Hanuma Vihari, an outstanding cricketer with unparalleled talent, was harassed and insulted by the Andhra Cricket Association to promote the son of a party leader, Kuntrapakam Prithviraj, who was the 17th player on the team. Frustrated with the Andhra Cricket Association’s functioning, Vihari opted to step down from the captaincy.
Lokesh emphasised that upon learning of this situation, Chief Minister and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, he responded immediately, standing firmly by Hanuma Vihari. The hashtag #WeStandWithHanuma also received tremendous support on social media, with numerous cricket fans expressing solidarity with Vihari.
The previous system also obstructed Vihari’s efforts to train aspiring cricketers and refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for him to lead cricket teams in other states.
