Govt will order judicial probe into Kaleshwaram project irregularities: Uttam

Must read

Recalling the Congress party’s statement before the Assembly elections that it will order a judicial inquiry into the irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project after coming to power, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy made it clear that the Congress government will
order a judicial inquiry into the execution of the Kaleshwaram project.
Declaring that the government will punish the guilty he said that there were defects in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project.
Uttam said that the Medigadda Barrage’s pillar sagged on October 21. Assembly elections were held on November 30, counting was held on December 3 and the new government took charge on December 7.
He said that is shameful that former Chief Minister KCR did not speak anything on the Kaleshwaram project.
“We will confirm everything will give facts to the media after discussing the ENC’s report in the Cabinet. Already Chief Minister Revanth has hinted that the government will order a judicial inquiry into the Kaleshwaram project. It is shameful that the Meddigada
Barrage sank in just three years. The persons who constructed the project must take responsibility for that.
It is clear that there was huge corruption in executing the project. The government will decide what to do after getting the ENC’s report and it is discussed by Ministers,” Uttam
said. He said that the government thinks that the report given by the National Dam Safety Authority about the Medigadda Barrage is correct and that the design and construction of the Kaleshwaram project had failed.

The BRS government had described the Kaleshwaram project as a wonderful one, but, unfortunately, the Medigadda Barrage’s pillars sank on October 21 with a huge sound.
