Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Mines, Geology, and Excise, visited flood-affected areas in Krishna district on Thursday. His tour included Jakkula Nekkalam in Gannavaram Mandal, several villages in Thotlavalluru Mandal, and various divisions within Machilipatnam Municipality. During his visit, he spoke with victims and inquired about the government’s provision of food, drinking water, and medicines.
Addressing the situation, Kollu Ravindra assured that the state government would support those affected by the severe floods in Krishna district. He noted that many low-lying areas had been inundated, causing significant hardship for residents who have been forced to stay in submerged areas.
He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state government is committed to addressing all issues faced by flood victims. He pledged that the government would aid farmers by providing input subsidies to help offset substantial crop losses.
Additionally, Kollu Ravindra highlighted that, at Chief Minister Naidu’s request, a central team had visited the state to assess the crop damage. He also noted that the government is distributing essential supplies to the affected, including 25 kg of rice, oil, sugar, onions, and potatoes.
During his visits, Kollu Ravindra was accompanied by Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkata Rao, Machilipatnam Municipal Commissioner Bapi Raju, and other officials.
