Grand celebrationsmark Fatima Mata Festival

In a magnificent display of communal harmony, the Fatima Mata Mary Church in Patimapur village under Kothur mandal witnessed a vibrant celebration of the Mary Mata festival. The event held on Wednesday drew people from all walks of life, regardless of religion.
MLA Veerlapalli Shankar, representing the constituency, took part in the festival. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the historical significance of the church
Shankar emphasised the pivotal role mothers would play s, underscoring the importance of Mother Mary, referred to as Maria Mata in the local tradition. He noted that the annual festival, known as the Fatima Mata Tirunalla Mahotsava, is celebrated with great fervour, paying homage to Mother Mary.
 The MLA stressed the festival’s message of unity and harmony, irrespective of caste, religion, or race. He urged everyone to live as children of God, receiving blessings to lead peaceful lives.
