A miracle is about to unfold in the sky with the appearance of a rare green comet, last seen thousands of years ago in the Ice Age.
The Green Comet named C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is visible in the southern hemisphere on clear skies. After nearly 50,000 years, this comet is coming back our way.
From February 1 to 6, residents of Vijayawada city can have a clear view of the Green Comet.
According to NASA, the comet visited Earth during Neanderthal times. This time, it will come within 26 million miles (42 million kilometers) of Earth, go fast again and will not return for millions of years. Astronomers first spotted the comet in March last year with the Wide Field Survey Camera at the Zwicky Transient Facility and it was orbiting Jupiter at the time.
