Guntur dist gets Rs 30.03 cr for Vidya Deevena

As many as 40,059 students have been disbursed Rs 30.03 crore under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme. The amount was credited into the bank accounts of the mothers of the students by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Moha Reddy at a programme held in Madanapalle on Wednesday.

On the occasion of disbursement of free reimbursement a programme was organised here on Wednesday in which Collector M Venugopal Reddy and ZP chairperson Henry Christina, MLAs and MLC were present. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Venugopal Reddy said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving top priority to the education sector and the district had got Rs 30.03 crore under the free reimbursement. He underlined the need of education for the development of individuals and also for the development of the state.

The Collector said that basic facilities and drinking water are being sent to schools to strengthen primary education. He claimed that the government is being renovated at par with the corporate educational institutions. The Chief Minister assured to provide a ‘tab’ to the students from class VIII onwards. The Collector lauded that the Chief Minister is constantly working to provide good education to the children. The SC, ST, BC and EBC students are benefited under the Vasati Deevena scheme, he added.

ZP chairperson Henry Christina said that 11.02 students in the state were disbursed Rs 694 crore under the Vidya Deevena scheme and exhorted the students to avail all the benefits being provided by the government and excel in education. Government Whip and MLC Dokka Manikyavara Prasad, MLA M.Mustafa and MLA M Giridhar also spoke. MLC Sheikh Mohammed Mustafa, MLA Maddali Giridhara Rao and Social Welfare Board Director Ganika Jhansi Rani were present.

Meanwhile, 38,677 students in Eluru district got Rs 26.58 crore under the Vidya Deevena scheme. The amount was credited into the bank accounts of the mothers of the students. On the occasion a programme was organised here. Speaking on the occasion district social welfare department Joint secretary D Madhusudhan Rao said that Rs 26,58,19,942 was disbursed to 38,677 students under the Vidya Deevena scheme on Wednesday by the Chief Minister. Later the Joint Director released a replica of the cheque.
