Without naming Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan, said that participants have to raise slogans loudly so that those who did not come to the Parade Grounds even after being invited should hear them.
The Governor participated in the Yoga Mahotsav countdown programme held at Parade Grounds on Saturday. She said that everyone has to celebrate Yoga Day like Dasara, Deepavali, Ramzan and Christmas and that everyone should practice Yoga.
Housewives should also practice Yoga as it will reduce tensions and safeguard health, she said, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making arrangements for Yoga.
She said that the slogans should be raised so that the Prime Minister as well as those who did not come to the Parade Grounds even after being invited can hear them.
Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy described Yoga Day as one programme that the entire world celebrates. He said that everyone should celebrate Yoga Day on June 21 in their homes, housing colonies and villages and that this year’s Yoga theme is ‘Vasudaika Kutumbam.’
He said the Parade Ground programme will remain a benchmark in encouraging Yoga across the world.
Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal, Munjpara Mahendra Kalubhai, Bhupender Yadav, State BJP leaders Dr K. Laxman, Eatala Rajender and others attended the programme.
