Former minister T Harish Rao has assailed the BJP for being content with distributing pictures, calendar, bags and saris as it has lacked concrete schemes for the welfare of the people.
He was speaking at BRS extended meeting held in Mahabubnagar district held at Kodangal on Monday.
Harish Rao said that the BRS would always remain with people irrespective of electoral outcome. The BRS would always fight on behalf of people to exert pressure on the government to implement the election promises.
The BRS works for the people. The people have seen the 10-year BRS rule and also that of the 10-year BJP rule. What did the BRS do to the good of the people, pat comes the list of at least 100 schemes like RytuBandhu, Rytu Bima, KCR Kit, Asara pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi and so on, he said.
He wanted the people in villages to question the BJP leaders visiting them on what had it done for the people. It did not benefit the Dalits, tribals, farmers and also the poor. It increased the prices of diesel, LPG which now costs Rs 1,000 a cylinder. The prices of essential commodities are on the rise. The BJP government broke the back of the poor with the inflationary tendencies. It has become difficult for the poor to life. The promise of the BJP is to fill at least 2 crore jobs in a year. In fact, it should have given 20 crore jobs in 10 years, he said accusing the BJP of duping the unemployed.
The BJP leaders have no notable schemes to claim credit, he reiterated. That is why, they have been distributing photos, calanders, bags and saris. The BJP started 157 medical colleges across the nation, but did not give at least one to Telangana, he alleged. Similarly, it started 157 nursing colleges in the country but showed an empty hand to the Telangana. It duped the Telangana people by not according national project status to Palamuru-Rangareddy LI Scheme. In the last MP elections, Modi completion of the LI scheme but did not give permission to the project. It did not devolve at least Re 1 for the project.
He alleged that the BJP leaders have been trying to dupe the people and alerted them to remain on the vigilant.
