Harish demands ‘One Nation, One MSP’ for cotton

Must read

BRS MLA Harish Rao renewed his call for a ‘One Nation, One MSP’ for cotton and accused the Centre of blatant discrimination in the support prices offered to different states.
In a sharp critique posted on X, he highlighted the stark differences in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) offered for cotton with Gujarat farmers receiving Rs 8,257 per quintal, while farmers in Telangana are offered only Rs 7,521.
Harish questioned the Centre’s commitment to uniform policies, given its advocacy for ‘One Nation, One Tax,’ ‘One Nation, One Election, and ‘One Nation, One Ration Card, and its failure to provide a consistent MSP for farmers across the country.
“Why should Telangana’s cotton farmers, who grow quality produce, face such injustice?” he asked, emphasizing that this regional disparity harms Telangana’s farmers.
He demanded immediate action to address this inequality, stressing that a unified MSP would ensure fairness for cotton farmers nationwide, regardless of their state.
