BRS MLA Harish Rao criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and accused him of practising “double standards” on critical issues like social welfare schemes and governance.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Bhavan, Harish said that Revanth’s inconsistent statements and policies highlight his lack of commitment and clarity in leadership. He likened Revanth to a “double-tongued leader,” stating, “A two-headed snake might frighten us, but it’s harmless. However, a double-tongued person like Revanth is dangerous to both people and governance.”
He accused Revanth of making contradictory promises and decisions, shifting his stance overnight on key issues, and misleading the public. Harish accused Revanth of halting Rythu Bandhu payments to farmers despite promising to extend benefits. “KCR ensured consistent payments, disbursing Rs 82,000 crore in 11 instalments. Revanth’s government, however, has betrayed farmers by freezing the scheme,” he said.
He pointed out how Revanth once criticized KCR’s Bathukamma saree distribution scheme but later promised to distribute better sarees. “Not only did he fail to deliver on his promise, but he also stopped distributing sarees entirely, disappointing women across the state,” Harish said.
Harish accused Revanth of hypocrisy on LRS, saying, “While in opposition, he called for free land regularisation. In power, he imposed hefty fees, collecting Rs 15,000 crore from the public.”
Harish highlighted Revanth’s inconsistent approach to employment, stating, “He promised two lakh jobs within a year but issued a ‘Jobless Calendar’ instead. His government’s handling of competitive exams has left hopefuls disillusioned.”
He criticised Revanth for indiscriminate demolitions under the guise of urban development and accused him of creating chaos in Hyderabad.
