Haritha Haram is nothing but a scam in the name of planting saplings, Telangana BJP President Sanjay said. No details are available regarding the Haritha Haram scheme, he said and added that the scheme’s objective has not been achieved.
Speaking to the media on Monday, he said the BRS government said that forest cover will increase and that monkeys will go back. But forests have not increased and monkeys have not gone back, Sanjay said.
He said the government has been planting poisonous plants and many commoners have died due to that. Sanjay asked why Haritotsavam should be held if leaders who preach ethics are cutting down trees.
Sanjay said that the BJP had selected 170 party activists (10 each from every Parliament constituency) from Telangana for the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majbooth’ programme. These 170 activists would go to other states and will try to strengthen polling booth committees. He said that 900 activists from other states would come to Telangana on June 27 and will tour all Shakthi Kendras for seven days.
Sanjay said that party leaders and cadres will create history on June 22 by meeting 35 lakh families. He said the party will take up ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ programmes from June 27 to July 5. He also called upon party leaders and cadres to make ‘Yoga Day’ a big success on June 21 across the state.
