Dealing with the petition filed by Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay against Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Monday alleging that his election is not valid, the Telangana High Court appointed a commission for cross-examination.

The petitioner, Sanjay, had alleged that Gangula Kamalakar had furnished false details in his election affidavit in 2018 elections.

The court had appointed a retired district judge Shailaja as a commission to conduct cross examination. The court directed the commission to conduct cross-examination from August 12 to 17 and posted the hearing in the case to August 21.

Bandi Sanjay lost assembly election in the hands of Gangula Kamalakar with 14974 votes margin. However, Bandi Sanjay approached the Court alleging that Gangula furnished false information in his affidavit and hence declare his election invalid.
