Telangana High Court has heard on disappearance of children and human trafficking on Wednesday.

The report of the Legal Services Authority has detailed to the High Court on the conditions in child welfare homes in the state. They said that non-profit organisations (NGOs) are running all the child homes in the state and the government has not set up any welfare homes for children.

Human trafficking is a serious crime in many countries, said the High Court.

The petitioners said that the High Court should have a special department to control human trafficking in the state.

Control, protection of victims, rehabilitation and reintegration into society is key to the High Court.

The High Court should investigate the sensitive issue and raise awareness among the judicial officers, the petitioners felt.

The hearing was adjourned to April 20. The High Court said it will investigate the petitions and pass appropriate orders.
