The court expressed anger at TTD for not paying compensation to the family of the deceased even after the court issued orders to pay the amount. The HC asked why the amount was not paid though the TTD was the richest temple in the country.
The Wildlife Department, in an affidavit, has expressed its willingness to put up fencing on the walkway. The department said that there was no objection to setting up underpasses in a few areas.
Advocate Y Balaji, representing the petitioner, asked the Wildlife, TTD and Forest departments to jointly monitor the safety of the devotees. Balaji said High Court supervision was necessary.
The High Court has issued orders to TTD and others to file a counter within two weeks.
