Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has started the inaugural Women’s T10 League for female cricketers for the first time in its association history, said its president Arshanapalli Jaganmohan Rao.
Jaganmohan Rao was the chief guest in the Women’s League opening ceremony held at Uppal Stadium on Monday. He said 450 women cricketers will play in this league which will be held for 15 days at Hyderabad. This league schedule has been designed in which every team will play at least one match in Uppal international stadium for motivation.
He said that the league was conceived with the hope of producing great cricketers like the former captain of the Indian team and legendary Hyderabad cricketer Mithali Raj. He said that their goal is to make Telangana girls play for Team India and WPL in the future. Jaganmohan Rao also said that he will discuss with his fellow Apex Council members to establish a women’s cricket academy with all facilities in Hyderabad.
