Incessant rains hampered coal production of 6,800 tonnes in the open cast mine-2 of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for the past two days. Similarly, coal production of 10,400 tonnes has been affected in the open cast mine-3. The soil excavation work has been hampered.
In Tadicharla open cast mine too the production of coal has been hit, according to AMR vice president Prabhakar Reddy and mining manager KSN Murthy.
On account of the rains, water entered the OCP. As a result, excavation of 6,60,000 cubic meters of sand could not be carried out between July 15 to 20. But, only 1,55,494 cubic meters of sand can be excavated. Out of the targeted coal production of 42,000 tonnes, only 9,320 tonnes could be achieved.
