Rains lashed west Hyderabad at around 9 pm on Saturday. The rains hit Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar and reached Hyderabad city at around 9 pm with heavy initial showers followed by a steady downpour.
The IMD had warned on Saturday that isolated heavy rain is likely in the districts of Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Warangal, and Hanamkonda. Isolated thunderstorms are likely in some districts of Telangana, the IMD report added.
The IMD said that isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur in some districts of Telangana in the next two days.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert from Saturday to Monday. The rains can cause water pooling on roads and flood low-lying areas. Traffic congestion is also possible. There is also a possibility of trees and electric poles falling and the distribution of electricity and water getting affected.
