As many as 11 TDP leaders, who were arrested by the Gannavaram police for attacking the police on Monday, were produced before the Gannavaram court on Tuesday. While the court sent Pattibhiram for a medical exam at the Vijayawada Government General Hospital after he claimed that he was subjected to third-degree treatment by the police after covering his face with a towel at Totlavalluru, the other 10 TDP leaders were sent to judicial remand.

TDP official spokesman K Pattabhiram, TDP leader from Gannavaram Dontu Chinna and other TDP leaders and activists were arrested on Monday on charges of attacking the police.

Gannavaram police registered cases against Pattabhiram and other leaders and activists alleging that the latter had attacked the police.

Pattabhiram’s wife Chandana who expressed insecurity about the life of Pattabhiram after police arrested them on Monday, was kept under house arrest on Tuesday. The police prevented her from going to Gannavaram as she decided to go to Gannavaram to meet her husband and other arrested leaders. She was not allowed to come out of the house located in the Gurunanak colony in Vijayawada. She expressed apprehensions about the safety of her husband and demanded the release. The TDP leaders strongly condemned the arrest of Pattabhiram and alleged that false cases were registered against the TDP leaders.
