The historical buildings along the Musi River are set to become tourist destinations due to a new initiative announced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Appealing to industrialists, the Chief Minister urged them to contribute to preserving Hyderabad’s cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of these structures to the city’s identity. He reaffirmed the government’s decision to promote tourism and to make Telangana a welfare state.
In a significant move, the TG Tourism Department signed an agreement with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to restore ancient step-wells in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the event, the CM highlighted the government’s Musi Riverfront Development Project and criticised past administrations for neglecting the city’s historic buildings, many of which have fallen into disrepair. As part of this preservation drive, the Chief Minister announced plans for the renovation of the old Assembly building. Once completed, the Legislative Council will be relocated to the refurbished structure.
Special attention will be given to the preservation  of the iconic Jubilee Hall, a building of historical significance constructed using unique technology. Revanth suggested that the CII should adopt the Jubilee Hall and preserve it.
The Chief Minister also spoke about restoring the old Osmania Hospital and plans to build a new facility at the Goshamahal Stadium.
He also stressed the importance of protecting the High Court building, revealing that the government has already allocated 100 acres at Rajendra Nagar for the construction of a new High Court building.
Other notable structures like the Puranapool Bridge and the Hyderabad City College will also be preserved, with the Charminar Conservation Project already underway.
Industrialists have volunteered to restore the city’s ancient step-wells, turning them into tourist attractions. During the event, many entrepreneurs handed over documents to the CM agreeing to help the restoration move.

Bharat Biotech has adopted the Salar Jung and Ammapalli wells, and Dodla Dairy will renovate the Adikmet step-well.
