Telangana Home Minister Muhammad Mahmood Ali on Monday inaugurated new buildings for the Humayun Nagar and Kulsumpura police stations.

The Humayun Nagar police station comprises four floors apart from the ground floor. The Kulsumpura police station will be housed in a three-storied building.  Both the stations are designed with a visitors lounge, reception desk, multiple cabins for officers, CCTV viewing centres, meeting rooms and ample parking facility.

Following the inauguration of the new offices, the Minister said, “The state government had launched pioneering initiatives in the police department. Monthly maintenance budgets for police stations, huge video wall in TSPICCC to monitor 10 lakh CCTV feeds, state-of-the-art technology and a huge patrol fleet were some of the key changes in the police department.”

He appreciated the city police officers and commissioner CV Anand for exerting strict discipline in maintaining law and order. Telangana DG Anjani Kumar said, “Alongside the economic development, the law and order, peace, women safety and crime control measures in Telangana caught the attention of the nation. He said that the public has equal role in nurturing a good society. Our intervention begins when someone violates law. Parents should counsel the youngsters if they notice that they are going off the track.”

Addressing the police officers, Anand said, “Exercise your duties in such a way that the criminals must fear the police and majority of the general public should approach and trust us.” He further said, “Considering the recent upsurge in population and to address the future policing needs, the state government has reorganised the City Police Commissionerate.”
