Hold elections impartially, SP directs police officials

District Superintendent of Police D Mary Prashanthi has directed the police officials and AR officials to take steps to conduct the forthcoming elections transparently and impartially.
The SP held a meeting with the police officials and AR personnel on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, she instructed them to follow the guidelines and norms of the Election Commissioner of India. The elections should be conducted transparently and impartially. Concrete steps are being taken to conduct elections in a peaceful atmosphere and the presence of the EVMs in the strong rooms after completion of polling.  Elaborate security would be provided to strong rooms where EVM are preserved, she said.
Webcasting would be conducted at the areas where polling is held, she said, adding that discussions will be held with the officials concerned about setting up strong rooms.
The strong rooms would be under round-the-clock surveillance and armed forces would be deployed for the protection of strong rooms. The EVMs would be taken to the strong room after polling is completed amid elaborate security, the SP told the officials. AR Additional SP SS Sekhar, DSP E Srinivasulu, CIs Rajasekhar, Prabhakar and other officials and AR police personnel were present.
