August 14 will be remembered annually as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to commemorate the struggles and sacrifices of people during the partition of India in 1947. As part of it, South Central Railway is observing the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day across all the six divisions of the zone. The theme of exhibition was the story of Partition of India, which despite being full of agony and suffering, also highlights the beginning of a new life for millions of Indians who defied the horrors, epitomising resilience and courage in the face of adversity.
Keeping in mind its significance, special photo exhibitions have been set up at 40 Railway stations on SCR to sensitise and educate the travelling public about the pain and sufferings of Indians during the partition.
Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, opened the ‘Horrors of Partition’ photo exhibition on Monday on Platform No. 10 of Secunderabad railway station. Lokesh Vishnoi, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, initiated the digital exhibition through the display wall on Partition Horrors at Platform No. 1 of Kacheguda railway station.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway, stated that the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day helps to shed light on the agony of millions of people who were the sufferers of partition.
