Imran Khan, a professional bodybuilder from Hyderabad who has won numerous titles, recently travelled to Kuwait to qualify for Olympia. Qualification to compete on the iconic Olympia stage is the most sought-after achievement in the world of professional physique competition. In order to qualify, an athlete must meet requirements as set forth by the IFBB Professional League, the official sanctioning organisation of Olympia. Imran Khan came to Mumbai to compete in the Pro Show, where he won the title and qualified; now he is off to America to compete in the iconic Mr Olympia.
Speaking on this occasion, Shafi Sami, President NPC Telangana, said, “Khan is the first ever athlete who has been qualified to represent India on the international platform, and that too from Hyderabad, Telangana. I feel very proud to be a part of his journey, and we wish him all the best. All our prayers are with him. We are confident that he will win the competition and make our state and country proud.”
