Must read

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner  CV Anand performed Bhoomi Pooja and laid the foundation stone for a new building for a proposed creche for the kids of women police officers of the City Police on Saturday.

The creche, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.5 crore, will be funded by the MEIL Foundation and MEIL (Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited) as part of their CSR project. The G+1 building is expected to be completed by November 14 this year and can accommodate 100 children in the age group of 0-5 years.

City Police Commissioner,  CV Anand, addressed the 600 women officers present at the venue and said that he was happy as the women officers are now getting better facilities at the workplace. He said that 11.5% of 18432 personnel working in Hyderabad City Police are Women and it is important that despite all the difficulties and multi-roles which a woman has to perform in society as a mother, wife, and an officer, they should come forward bravely to take on challenging roles and break the stereotypes.

“The new facility will be beneficial for women officers who often have to remain in the field as part of their duties for various security duties 24/7. They can bring their children to work with them and have them cared for while they are on duty. The creche will be equipped with a separate kitchen to ensure that the children receive healthy and nutritious meals. The facility will be staffed by trained professionals who will provide personalised care and attention to the children,” Anand added.

MEIL Director Pamireddy Rama Reddy, said it is her privilege to contribute to society by helping the Hyderabad Police and making their lives easier to help citizens. MEIL Director Ravi Reddy also addressed the occasion and said in the span of all these years of MEIL FOUNDATION activities, this is the most close to his heart, and he wishes it to grow and multiply exponentially.

The proposed creche for the kids of women police officers will allow them to balance their professional and personal responsibilities more effectively. The project aims to create a supportive and inclusive workplace culture for all the women officers in the Hyderabad City Police.
