The Indian Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H) on Monday predicted that the heat wave in Telangana would continue till May 4. As per the report, Nalgonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius.
On April 29, dry weather prevailed across Telangana and on April 30 heat wave is likely to prevail over districts including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtiyal, Rajanna\Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddpally, Jayashankar\Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri\ Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Jangaon, Hanamkonda, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba\Gadwal. Similar conditions are expected to prevail in the State till May 4.
Hyderabad recorded maximum temperature of (43.1), among districts Nalgonda was followed by Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem (45.3), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (45.2), Wanaparthy, Khammam (45.1), Jagtiyal (45), Nizamabad, Mahabubabad and Karimnagar (44.9), Narayanpet (43.8) and Rajanna\Sirciila (43.7)
As per the Telangana State Planning Development Society (TSDPS), dry weather is expected to prevail in Telangana from April 29 to May 2. The maximum temperature in the State is likely to range between 41-45 degrees Celsius; the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 26-29 degrees Celsisus. Among areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Charminar recorded the highest temperature (43.1) followed by Chandrayangutta, Santoshnagar, Yousufguda and LB Nagar (43), Kapra and Saroornagar (42.9), Jubilee Hills (42.8) Serilingampally (42.6) and Khairatabad (42.2).
