Amidst much anticipation, the upcoming film Krishnamma is set to grace the silver screen on May 10, boasting a stellar cast led by the versatile hero Satyadev. Directed by V.V. Gopalakrishna and produced by Krishna Kommalapati under the banner of Arunachala Creations, with director Koratala Siva presenting the film, Krishnamma promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing narrative and gripping performances.
The pre-release event, held in Hyderabad on Wednesday, witnessed the presence of industry stalwarts including pan-India director S.S. Rajamouli, star directors Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, and Gopichand Malineni, who graced the occasion as chief guests and unveiled the trailer of the film.
As the film nears its release, actor Satyadev interacted with the media on Wednesday and gave some deets about the film. Reflecting on his journey with the film, he shared, “For the film, the entire cast and crew were on board. I was the last person to come on board.”
Exploring the lesser-known facets of Vijayawada, Satyadev emphasised, “Generally, when one thinks of Vijayawada, most people talk about its rowdies, factions, etc., but exactly opposite to it is shown in Krishnamma. We wanted to show there is more to Vijayawada.”
Describing the essence of the film, he revealed, “The film is more about life. It is about three boys whose lives get shattered and how society plays a role in that.”
“There is action in this film, but they are all justified action sequences and not there just for the sake of it,” the actor shared, addressing the action sequences in the film.
Delving into his portrayal of the character Bhadra, Satyadev remarked, “I worked on the accent, and the body language. Bhadra is a mass character, which was very well written by our director. I have done soft roles so far, and playing this mass character was a challenge, and I learned it in the process. The story has incidents taken from real incidents. It’s a fictional story based on real-life incidents.”
On a lighter note, the actor confessed that he became popular in the Indian cinema market after starring in The Godfather and Ram Setu. “Doing a film like Ram Setu is one level, and choosing films that match the tempo of Ram Setu in the following outings is difficult. I am getting good offers from Tamil Nadu; I am on the edge of accepting a few films.” Expressing his excitement about the film’s narrative, he revealed, “Gopal wrote many interesting scenes in the film, and even I was surprised and excited to learn about a few scenes in the movie.”
Offering a glimpse into the film’s structure, Satyadev enthused, “The second half of the film is nail-biting. The first half is all about setting the mood, but the second half is very intriguing. It is one of the best second halves, and it has the soul of the film.”
On the acting front, the actor has two other films in line for release, whose announcements Satyadev said will be made after the release of Krishnamma.
