Online cricket betting racket busted, Rs 1.8 lakh seized

The sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT) and LB Nagar Zone team, along with Vanasthalipuram team and Chaitanyapuri Police, busted a cricket betting racket and seized Rs1.8 lakh cash from four persons, while freezing Rs12,50,967 in various bank accounts on Wednesday.  
The accused are Ramesh Chand Chowdary (30), Satavahana Colony, LB Nagar, Edukulla Jagadeesh (45), Vasavi Colony, Kothapet. (punter), Pallapu Pavan Kumar (23), SBI Colony, LB Nagar and Suresh Chowdhary (36), Satavahana Nagar, LB Nagar (money collection agent).
While the other three accusers Md. Asim R/o. LB Nagar (bookie), Sai Prasad, Bairamulaguda (bookie) and Shivanarayana, Nagole (punter) were not available.  
On Tuesday evening, the police jointly nabbed the sub-bookie, one punter and two money collection agents from one house situated Road No.3, Vasavi Colony, under the limits of the Chaitanyapuri police station.
The accused were accepting online cricket betting through numerous websites. The officials seized net cash of Rs 1,80,000, four mobile phone and freezed all the four bank accounts of the culprits , total seized amount being Rs 14,30,967.
They nabbed the culprits and registered the case under CR. NO.364/2024 U/S. 3 & 4 of TS Gaming Act of Chaitanyapuri PS of Rachakonda.
The above arrests were made under the direct supervision of Dr Tarun Joshi, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda and under guidance of Ch Praveen Kumar, DCP, LB Nagar Zone by K Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-Maheshwaram, SOT and Chaitanyapuri police personnel.
