Minister for Housing and I&PR, K Parthasarathy, has appealed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to prioritise and expedite the completion of the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme.
The Chief Minister was in Agiripalli near Nuzvid to take part in the birth anniversary celebrations of social reformer Jyothirao Phule, followed by the Bangaru Kutumbam–Margadarsi programme.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Parthasarathy underlined the significance of the Chintalapudi Lift Scheme, stating it would provide irrigation to thousands of acres and transform the upland areas of the Nuzvid constituency into fertile agricultural lands. He added that linking the scheme with the Polavaram right canal would enable irrigation of up to 20,000 acres.
Highlighting the government’s focus on development, the Minister said the Chandrababu Naidu-led administration was actively implementing the Super-6 schemes. Alongside welfare measures, industrial development is being prioritised, he said, pointing out that Ashok Leyland is setting up a unit at Mallavalli, and a chocolate factory is also in the pipeline — moves expected to boost employment.
Eluru Collector K Vetri Selvi stated that efforts are underway to enhance the district’s industrial growth. As part of the ‘P4’ survey, 99,000 individuals were identified as the poorest of the poor, and plans are being formulated to assist them through the Margadarshakulu initiative.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister assured the construction of CC roads and an underground drainage system in Agiripalli, reiterating his vision that every family should have an entrepreneur.
