The Income-Tax (I-T) Department conducted searches in the offices of real estate firms in Hyderabad on Tuesday o check for tax evasion.
About 20 teams of I-T officials conducted simultaneous searches at the offices of Wonder City, Royal City and other companies.
The officials are also checking the records of transactions at the office of the real estate firm Googee in Dilsukhnagar.
Sources said the searches were part of the I-T Department’s investigations into complaints of tax evasion against real estate companies.
Several such searches were conducted in the city in recent weeks. Sources said that land documents were seized. In the case of Googee companies the officials tried to contact the accountant but his room was locked and phone switched off.
