The Telangana region witnessed a significant amount of rainfall, particularly in Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Rangareddy, Wanaparthy and Gadwal on Friday, with scattered rains in Hyderabad until the afternoon.
As per the IMD, a yellow alert has been issued, indicating heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba\Gadwal districts of Telangana.
Thunderstorms with rain, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at 30-40 kmph, are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem\Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar\Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri\Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri\Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba\Gadwal districts of Telangana.
According to the IMD, the city experienced a cloudy sky all day, with prediction of light to moderate rain/thundershowers, occasionally with intense spells accompanied by gusty winds at 30-40 kmph.
The GHMC has alerted the public to take precautions, and NDRF teams are in place in the city, with the IMD predicting a huge amount of rainfall in the midnight.
