The incessant rains in the district since Monday ravaged the district. Several villages were flooded and the teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed.

An Army helicopter rescued six stranded workers from the Morancha rivulet on the outskirts of Nain Paka village under Chityal mandal. The Revenue officials rescued four farmers stranded in the Maner River. Road connectivity to several villages remained cut off with flood waters inundating roads. Moranchapally, Lakshmareddy Pally and Ravulapally villages are under water.

The bridge between Tekumatla and Raghavareddypet collapsed. The Are Vagu under Malahar mandal, Pothalavai under Kataram mandal and Pedda Vagu under Mahamutharam mandal are in spate. Godavari and Pranahita rivers and rivulets at Peddampet, Konga Vagu, Sola Vagu and Chandrupalli and Nall Vagu are overflowing. Paddy and cotton fields were flooded. Paddy and the cotton crop are likely to suffer damage.

Four farmers, Santosham Raju, Ajmir Raju, Sakinala Rajaiah and Tulsegari Sekhar got stranded when they went to their agriculture field to fetch electric motors. The swollen Maner River left the agriculture field left marooned. Manthani MLA D Sridhar Babu alerted District Collector Bhavesh Mishra and ensured that the farmers were rescued.
