Inter-district Handball Tournament from Jan 13

The 37th Sub Junior and 44th Junior Inter-District Handball Tournament for boys will be conducted at Gannavaram in Krishna district from January 13 to 14. The two-day tournament will be organised at the Zilla Parishad Girls High School grounds at Gannavaram, said Krishna District Handball Association (KDBA) president KVR Kishore, who is also the chairman of KVR Sports Club, and general secretary J Simhachalam.

Trophies for sub juniors’ and juniors’ handball tournaments were launched at a programme held at KVR Sports Club at Gannavaram on Thursday. Addressing media persons, KVR Kishore and Simhachalam said that about 500 handball players would participate in the two-day tournament. The matches will be conducted on a league-cum-knockout basis, they said.

They said that 15 districts would participate in the tournament. State sub-junior and junior teams would be selected after the completion of the tournament, they added.

The tournament will be conducted with the support of the Gannavaram Walkers Association, Rotary Club of Gannavaram, Sri Durga Steel Corporation, Autonagar and Navodaya Training Centre.
