The recent suicide of Shyam, a fan of Jr NTR, has sparked controversy in both the film and political spheres. Although Shyam released a selfie video prior to his death, doubts have arisen regarding the circumstances surrounding his suicide.
Jr NTR, while expressing his condolences for the loss of his fan Shyam, has voiced concerns about the suicide and called for a thorough investigation into the incident. He stated, “I am uncertain about the factors that led him to take such a drastic step, but the government should initiate a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.”
Seizing the opportunity, Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), attempted to gain political mileage by appeasing Jr NTR. Naidu personally contacted Shyam’s family members to offer his condolences. He declared that the TDP would extend full support to the family in any way possible. Naidu also conveyed his condolences to the family through a tweet. Representatives of the TDP from East Godavari visited Shyam’s family on behalf of the party to offer solace.
Shyam’s father, Srinivasa Rao, informed Naidu about his suspicions regarding his son’s death, citing neck and body injuries that seemed to have been inflicted by a sharp object. While providing words of encouragement to the family, Naidu announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to Shyam’s parents and assured them of any necessary assistance.
It appears that Naidu aimed to gain the favour of Jr NTR by standing in support of his fan’s family. Thus far, there has been no further response from Jr NTR.
