Isha Koppikar: I saw the main predators of the jungle in one frame

Must read

Here’s bringing to you another interesting travel tale this week, we bring to you Isha Koppikar’s safari tour from Masai Mara in Kenya.

Shikha Duggal

The most famous destination for the national reserve where Ranbir Kapoor proposed to Alia Bhatt for marriage — Masai Mara in Kenya, has all of a sudden become the most inviting park for our celebrities. Neighbouring to it was Isha Koppikar, who was breathlessly waiting to visit the wildlife in Kenya and swore to us for an exclusive segment on the same. To know all about the RGV’s heroine’s safari tour & more, we quickly jumped into the deets.

The free and easy woman shares, “I was at a wildlife tour this time — binoculars, sun-block and camera packed. Just at the beginning of our expedition, we saw two cheetahs preying for their kill! Moving ahead, there was another clan of cheetahs who were quietly relishing on their kill, and out of nowhere a hyena leaps and takes away their kill.

More hyenas, followed. Cheetahs continued to stalk for another quarry, however when they realised there is a lioness in their vicinity — they backed out. I saw all of this in one frame, can you imagine? The four main predators of the jungle! I felt I am watching animal planet.”

Talking about her favourite travel companion, she expressed, “It was about Masai Mara, a true wildlife experience and I couldn’t have come without my brother. My parents tagged along, my daughter is still very young so I didn’t want her to accompany me for this rugged experience. The safaris went on for almost eight hours a day, that’s how tiresome it’s.”

Not a beach babe at all, she rather prefers homestays in the mountains and more. She added, “Mountains are awe-inspiring for me, and any conversation about wildlife is incomplete without me. That’s how much am I into these two now. Even when I go to France or London, I like to explore the countryside more. Especially, the forests! When you spot carnivores, it’s a phenomenal experience one can never forget.

I am not at all into shopping sprees, take me to mother nature. All of a sudden the wildlife enthusiast in me is awakened. So my idea of a vacation is to flock to the grasslands.”

When she’s back here, she’s mesmerized by the mystic land of our country that’s Kerala. Adding to the list is Goa, Mussoorie but she reveals, “It wasn’t my first time in Kenya, been there thrice now. Back here, I have made my daughter experience this addictive saga in Ranthambore and not one sanctuary have I left. Be it Kanha National Park, Bhadra, Pench or Gir forests. How can I forget Kaziranga national park? All for the tigers! It’s a visual treat to watch them on a safari.

I have been to Masai Mara four years ago, still felt the urgency to make a re-visit there because they have the highest number of predators, you see their unique behaviour in life and the sanctuary is built in the middle of current modernization. Yet, the locals have conserved it so well.”
