IT firms told to resume WFH till monsoon abates

Information technology companies under the Cyberabad Commissionerate were on Wednesday advised to resume work from home option till rains subside.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Stephen Raveendrasaid: “A control room has been set up to monitor the flow of traffic identifying the water logging areas, monitoring all busy roads 24X7 through PSIOC by eight teams, created 10 Emergency Response Teams for faster response.”

The Commissioner appreciated the companies for implementing the advisory released by the Commissionerate in order to avoid traffic congestion. Only those employees who are required to execute their responsibilities from office have been advised to attend offices.

Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) General Secretary Ramesh Kaza said: “SCSC has been playing a pivotal role in organizing this kind of interactive sessions, so that the industry would get to know what Police has been doing at the ground level and would also have an opportunity to understand what kind of challenges Police have been facing while dealing with the situation created by incessant rains. He thanked the industry for positively responding to the advisory issued by police on staggered timings and requested the industry to seriously explore the option of car-pooling. During future interactions, SCSC would also involve GHMC on civic issues, TSRTC to address any public transport issues.”

Ramesh Kaza requested volunteers from the IT industry to join traffic volunteers’ and be part of the team helping the traffic police in regulating traffic.

“The Police Department is continuously monitoring the water-logging areas and closely working with GHMC so that these are addressed immediately. To ensure the public is updated continuously, department has been posting real-time updates on traffic situation – on Cyberabad Police Twitter handles, through electronic display boards and WhatsApp messages etc so that the public can follow them and avoid congested roads,” the Commissioner added.
