The IT Department raided the houses of some textile traders in Hyderabad on Tuesday. IT officials conducted searches at Kalamandir, Mandir, Kanchipuram Varamahalakshmi, KLM, Rupavalli and Kanchipuram Valley Silks’ branches. Raids are going on in 35 areas simultaneously.
IT officials conducted searches with 40 teams in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The IT Department also conducted raids in Kakinada, Vijayawada, Vizag and Rajahmundry and in three garment showrooms in Bengaluru.
The searches were reportedly connected to allegations of tax evasion and other financial irregularities.
Recently IT officials raided real estate companies and many film production companies. IT officials reached the houses of Kalamandir directors Sirisha Chinthapalli and Pramod at 6 am on Tuesday and searched their houses for four hours.
