Five years ago, on May 30, 2019, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy marked a new era in public governance, ending the previous administration under Chandrababu Naidu. In the general election preceding his term, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) secured a significant victory, winning 151 Legislative Assembly seats and 22 Lok Sabha seats. On that same day, YS Jagan took the oath of office at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada.
To commemorate five years in office, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy tweeted about the milestone. He attributed the YSRCP’s rise to power to divine grace and the people’s historic verdict. He emphasised that his government has worked for the welfare of every family, regardless of caste, religion, region, or political affiliation. He expressed confidence that the YSRCP, with the continued support and blessings of the people, would be re-elected and further advance the State’s comprehensive development.
Reflecting on the past five years, YS Jagan’s administration has been noted for its focus on welfare and development, even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister’s leadership is described as a significant chapter in the state’s history. The YSRCP remains optimistic about its support in the current elections, with political analysts predicting an even greater victory than in previous elections.
