Legislative Council Chief Whip Panchumarthi Anuradha launched a scathing attack on the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP, alleging that not a single teacher post was filled during his tenure as Chief Minister, branding the recruitment record a “big zero.”

Addressing a press conference at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) central office on Monday, Anuradha accused the YSRCP of betraying the youth and failing to deliver on its promises. She noted that the public had already passed a verdict by limiting the party to just 11 Assembly seats in the recent elections, denying it even the status of the opposition.

Instead of introspection, she said, the YSRCP was engaging in unnecessary theatrics. Anuradha also condemned what she termed a false propaganda campaign by Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of spreading fake DSC notifications on social media after the TDP-led coalition government announced recruitment for 16,347 teacher posts through a Mega DSC—fulfilling a key poll promise.

She highlighted the TDP’s record of recruiting over 1.96 lakh teachers, attributing the achievement to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. In contrast, she alleged that the YSRCP regime had insulted the teaching profession by assigning teachers duties such as guarding liquor shops, cleaning toilets, and forcing them to pay bribes for recommendation-based transfers, amounting to Rs 50 crore.

She further criticised the previous government for its handling of the midday meal scheme, delayed salary payments, and the additional burden placed on teachers, calling it a “shameful record.”

Anuradha urged the public to reject the YSRCP’s misinformation campaign, which she said was aimed at misleading the youth, and reiterated that teacher recruitment under Jagan’s leadership was effectively non-existent.
