Jagan Govt strengthened education sector: Vijaya Sai

Parliament Standing Committee Chairman and Rajya Sabha member V Vijaya Sai Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed University College of Architecture and Planning building on the premises of the Acharya Nagarjuna University at Nagarjuna Nagar in Guntur district on Tuesday. He praised ANU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajasekhar for constructing the building with all amenities.
Addressing the gathering, MP Vijaya Sai Reddy said that future leaders are to be produced by the universities and for that the government is supporting the development of higher education facilities. The renowned Nalanda and Takshashila Universities were established in India before any other countries, he said.
He lamented that though India introduced higher education to the world before Christ, Indian students are going to other countries for higher studies. Eminent educationalists, political leaders, officers and professors should make introspection in this regard, he asked. Also, he suggested that Indian educational standards attract foreign students.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strengthened the education sector over the past four-and-a-half years. If the standards are improved in primary and middle schools, students would scale heights, he added.
He added that the YSRCP government provided around 6.16 lakh jobs in four-and-a-half years. Of them, 1.25 lakh people got government jobs, he added.
ANU Vice Chancellor Prof P Rajasekhar presided over the function and Rector Prof P Vara Prasad Murthy, Registrar Prof B Karuna, Engineering College Principal Prof Siddaiah, Architecture College Principal Prof Srinivas Reddy, Pharmacy College Principal Prof Prameela Rani, Arts and Science College Principals Prof. Ch Swarupa Rani, K Gangadhar, OSD K Sunitha and others were present.
