Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar has alleged that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had made hollow promises to the people to win elections.

Manor visited some villages including Isakalapalem and interacted with the fishermen on Monday. Later talking to the media he said that he had a meeting with the fishermen in Isakalapalem village of Ichchapuram constituency on Monday and inquired about their problems. Manohar alleged that all parties are using the fishermen as a vote bank but not working sincerely for their welfare. Fishing villages lack basic infrastructure. The Chief Minister made many promises to the kidney patients, fishermen, farmers and the unemployed youth but he failed to fulfil the promises even after nearly four years of being in power,”.

He said that the Janasenaa had focussed on the north AP districts and formulating plans on education, steps to be taken to check migration, and creating of employment and medical facilities for the people of the region. Manohar said that the development of Uttarandhra is limited to the foundation stones. If there is to be a change in the political system, there should be a change in the people.

“Can’t we do what states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Maharashtra are doing for the welfare and employment of fishermen? If this government is really committed to the welfare of the fishermen, they can construct a jetty at least every 40 km in this 192 km coastline,” Manohar said.

The Chief Minister promised to release the job calendar on 1 st of January every year. For the first three years he released the calendar but this year he did not. The government is not implementing the programme to provide compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who die accidentally while fishing in the sea, he slammed. He appealed to the people to bless Pawan Kalyan. Later Manohar inspected the arrangements being made for Pawan Kalyan’s Yuvasakthi meeting to be held on January 12 at Ranastalam village.
