While Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy says “Why not Kuppam” TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu is saying “Why not Pulivendula.” The current and former Chief Ministers are playing a mind game to create confidence among their party cadres and to confuse the public.

Chief Minister Jagan is trying to retain power by any means in the next Assembly elections. At the same time, former Chief Minister Chandrababu is trying to come to power.

While Jagan is representing Pulivendula, Chandrababu is representing Kuppam. Both Pulivendula and Kuppam are strongholds of the YSR Congress and TDP respectively.

During the last Assembly elections, the YSR Congress won 151 seats out of 175 assembly seats and the TDP 23 seats. Jagan launched a campaign to win all the 175 seats including Kuppam by coining the slogan ‘Why Not 175.’

TDP supremo Chandrababu recently launched the campaign ‘Why Not Pulivendula.’ The TDP has to win all 175 seats in the next Assembly elections. Jagan is confident of retaining power and Chandrababu is confident about the TDP coming to power in the next elections.

All recent surveys say that the YSR Congress will retain power. Chandrababu thinks that after YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder the YSR Congress has become weak in Pulivendula and the TDP has a winning chance. After going through the last Assembly election results Jagan thinks that it is not difficult to defeat Chandrababu in Kuppam. During the last Assembly elections while counting votes the YSR Congress secured a lead over Chandrababu in Kuppam in the first two rounds. Finally, Chandrababu won with a narrow majority.

Jagan thinks that the position of YSR Congress in Kuppam is now much stronger.
In local body elections, the YSR Congress won almost all the seats in Kuppam and this has made Jagan confident of defeating Chandrababu in Kuppam.

Both Jagan and Chandrababu are aiming to win all the 175 seats in the next Assembly elections which will certainly be an uphill task.
