In a strategic move gearing up for the upcoming elections, YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid out a comprehensive plan for poll preparedness to the party cadre during the ‘We are Ready and Our Booths are Ready’ meeting convened at the CK Convention Centre in Mangalagiri on Tuesday.
The gathering witnessed the participation of party MLAs, regional and constituency coordinators, district and mandal unit presidents, along with constituency, Mandal, and Secretariat-level conveners representing all 175 assembly constituencies.
In his address to the cadre, the Chief Minister highlighted the credibility YSRCP enjoys among the people, emphasising the party’s remarkable track record of fulfilling 99 per cent of its electoral promises. He underscored this achievement as a source of pride for the entire cadre.
Drawing a sharp contrast, he reminded attendees of the TDP’s failure to honour its commitments, notably the staggering default on farm loan waivers amounting to Rs. 87,612 crore, coupled with the outright dismissal of their manifesto post the 2014 elections, which led to a resounding defeat for the party in 2019.
Addressing concerns raised by party leaders regarding the feasibility of promises, the Chief Minister affirmed his commitment to only making promises grounded in reality. He reiterated that the party’s manifesto from 2019 stands as a testament, with 99 per cent of the promises successfully implemented.
Highlighting the government’s transparent governance, he pointed out that an impressive sum of Rs 2,55,000 crore had been disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) welfare schemes over the past 58 months. Noteworthy was the allocation of Rs. 1400 crore to 83,000 families in the Kuppam constituency alone, which boasts 87,000 households.
Encouraging the cadre to amplify these achievements, the Chief Minister urged them to communicate to the public that an overwhelming 93.23 per cent of the populace in the Kuppam constituency had received welfare benefits. This, he emphasized, underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to impartially implementing welfare schemes for the betterment of all.
The Chief Minister asked the party leaders to ensure that the booth-level activists work like an army to make a clean sweep of all assembly and Lok Sabha seats in the ensuing elections.
The next 45 days ahead of the elections are very crucial, he said, directing the cadre to meet the people in their booth jurisdiction and explain the good done to them.
The booth-level committees should play a more proactive role in meeting the people at least five times before the elections, he told them, adding that the cadre should explain the welfare benefits people have received through DBT and non-DBT schemes in the last 57 months and seek their blessings.
