Jayamangala quits YSRCP membership, MLC post

Must read

In a setback for the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Eluru district, former MLA Jayamangala Venkataramana has resigned from both the party membership and his MLC post. He submitted his resignation in the prescribed Speaker format on Saturday. Addressing the media at his residence in Atapaka village, Kaikaluru mandal, Venkataramana expressed his dissatisfaction with the party’s functioning and his inability to serve the public effectively while holding the MLC position.
“I have always been committed to serving the people, even when I held no position. If I cannot serve while in office, there is no point in continuing. Public service is my ultimate goal,” he said.
Venkataramana criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that despite raising public issues with the government during his tenure, he was not even granted an appointment, leaving him feeling humiliated. He also accused party leaders of ignoring public welfare during their time in the opposition and failing to address people’s issues adequately.
Recalling his earlier struggles, Venkataramana alleged that he was even attacked by YSRCP leaders when they were in opposition. However, he chose to join the party, hoping for positive change, but claimed that he was never treated fairly.
Highlighting his efforts to address the problems of the Kolleru region, he stated, “I tirelessly tried to bring Kolleru’s issues to the attention of the Chief Minister. Despite repeated attempts, I was denied an audience and was instead told to approach others like Dharmana Krishna Das and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who never resolved my concerns.”
Asserting his commitment to the people of Kaikaluru and Kolleru, Venkataramana remarked, “As a child of Kolleru, I will continue to serve the people. Resigning from my MLC post is a step towards fulfilling my duty. I will walk the path shown by the people and work towards their welfare.”
