Jilted lover stabs girl, her mother and sister

In yet another shocking incident, a jilted lover stabbed a girl, his mother, and sister on Thursday night at Kondrupolu village in Tadepalligudem mandal.

Police said that the accused Gajulapati Kalyan had been harassing the girl in the name of love and forcing her to love him. She informed the matter to her parents who warned him several times. Furious over this, the accused barged into her house and stabbed her in the face and chest. When her mother and sister went to her rescue, he also stabbed them and later fled the scene.

The injured women were admitted to the GGH here where their condition is said to be stable. SI M Srinivasa Rao visited the scene of offence and registered a case.

Meanwhile, Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma visited the injured girl, her mother, and sister in the GGH here. She spoke to them and assured them of all help. She directed the hospital superintendent to provide the best treatment to the women.

Later talking to the media, Vasireddy Padma expressed shock and grief over the stabbing of three women. She said that the accused would be arrested and a charge sheet would be filed within a week. She said that she had asked the SP to open a rowdy sheet against the accused. The accused also tried to burn a haystack and cattle belonging to the victims’ family.

Vasireddy Padma promised that the government would stand by the victims and promised to take the incident to the notice of the government.

Women’s Commission member Bushi Vinita, GGH Superintendent Vijay Kumar, DSP Paideswara Rao, and ICDS PD Pamavati were among those who accompanied her.
