Minister for Housing Jogi Ramesh has said that members of the Gouda community should unite to strengthen their financial status and help those who are financially weak. The State-level association of the community is taking steps for uniting the members, he said.
Minister Jogi Ramesh took part in the Gouda community’s Karthika Masam Vana Samaradhana programme organised by the Kotturu Tadepalli Gouda Sanghan at the K Tadepalli mango garden near Vijayawada on Sunday. Kotturu Tadepalli Sarpanch Vuyyuru Gopala Rao introduced several people’s representatives and local leaders to the minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ramesh said that he would try to provide financial assistance to the toddy tappers in the State. “For the sake of the toddy tappers, the State government has implemented a new policy and also enhanced the compensation from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.10 lakh in case of death and also provides alternative employment,” he added.
Former MP and TDP Krishna district president Konakalla Narayana Rao said that people’s representatives should work for the development of the community and try to sanction welfare schemes to eligible persons. Gouda people should unite irrespective of politics, help each other and take steps to develop their families, he said.
