The Prinicipal Secretary of the Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, has issued notices on behalf of the Telangana Government to Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPSs) to join duty by 5 pm on May 9 or face dismissal.

The government notice said, “It has come to notice of the government that Junior Panchayat Secretaries have formed a union in violation of their agreement bond and went on strike from April 28 demanding service regularisation. As per the agreement bond signed by you you have declared that ‘as Junior Panchayat Secretary I will not join any service Union/Organization/Association.’ You have also declared in the agreement bond that ‘As a Junior Panchayat Secretary, I will not have any claim or right to be appointed in regular service and such appointment will be without prejudice to the regular appointments that may be made in future.”

“The regularisation of service of any contract employee cannot be for all, but will be subject to the assessment and evaluation of their performance by a committee appointed by the government and only those whose performance is found to be satisfactory can be regularised. In spite of all these facts, you have formed a union and went on strike from April 28 unlawfully. By forming a union and going on strike illegally you have terminated all rights to continue in service. However, as a last chance, you are directed to join duty by 5 pm on May 9. Those who fail to join duty by 5 pm of May 9 will be terminated.”
