The Jana Sena Party (JSP) has objected to the AP government taking two helicopter services on lease by spending crores of rupees and announced that an inquiry would be conducted if the JSP-TDP alliance was voted to power.
Addressing a press conference in Tadepalligudem on Friday, JSP Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar said that two months ahead of stepping down from power, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was wasting crores of rupees of public money.
“Except the Prime Minister of India, no leader can use helicopters during elections. Jagan Mohan Reddy should tell people what are the security threats he is facing. Action will be taken against those who are responsible for acquiring helicopter services to the Chief Minister by spending crores of rupees,” Manohar observed.
“The Chief Minister is wasting Rs 25 crore by taking two helicopters on lease. This amounted to a violation of the election commission’s guidelines that government helicopters should not be used for election purposes,” Manohar asserted, demanding the Chief Minister to tell the people the reason for security threats to him.
The JSP vehemently condemns taking two helicopters on lease with the public money for the use of the Chief Minister. “The Chief Minister has earned huge money and why could he not purchase a helicopter with his own money,” he questioned.
“If the JSP-TDP alliance comes to power, an inquiry will be conducted on the helicopter issue,” he announced.
Meanwhile, Nadendla Manohar along with the JSP and TDP leaders inspected the arrangements for their joint public meeting to be organized on February 28.
Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan would explain to people the welfare schemes, which they implement if voted to power, he stated. Arrangements for the public meeting including a huge dais, parking place and galleries are being constructed on a war footing, he said.
